Poco F1 with MIUI 11 Update

The POCO F1 smartphone has been confirmed to get the MIUI 11 – the latest version of Android skin, which Xiaomi unveiled earlier this week. Alvin Tse, the head of Pocophone Global, has confirmed on Twitter that the POCO F1 will get MIUI 11 update when it rolls out globally. This will be a sigh of relief for customers who were furious after the handset was not included in the list of devices getting this new version of Xiaomi’s custom skin.

The stable release of the MIUI 11 will roll out in three batches, with the first batch starting in mid-October. The closed beta version of the MIUI 11 is now available for early testers and the open beta will be available to the public starting September 27


On the optics-front, it has a dual rear camera setup and a 20 MP selfie shooter. Coming out of the box with Android 8.1 (Oreo), Poco F1 already received Android 9 (Pie) update. Now, the users are waiting for Android 10 given it arrived on Google Pixels 20 days ago.

It is true that Xiaomi took in beta testers for Android Q. In came Google, eliminating the naming-after-desserts tradition. So technically, what the company will rollout is Android 10 beta (there is no official wording on the release yet).

To recall, the device got September security patch before a week in the form of MIUI 10.3.8.0. It didn’t bring anything new to the plate. And, they skipped August patch altogether.

Poco F1 was launched in India last year, and it has received several price cuts since then. The phone will be listed with deeper price cuts of up to Rs. 4,000 during the Diwali sale starting September 28. The 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB variants will be listed at Rs. 14,999, Rs. 15,999, and Rs. 18,999 respectively. To recall, the Poco F1 is priced at Rs. 18,990 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and Rs. 22,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option. Furthermore, there is an additional Rs. 1,000 discount on Amazon Pay for the 128GB model.
