The upcoming Google Pixel 4 XL has been spotted in a new leak

Google is having a hard time keeping the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL under wraps as more and more leaks of the phones are popping up every other day. This situation is somewhat similar to last year’s Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL that leaked out entirely before the official launch. The Google Pixel 4 devices have leaked to the extent that a publication has managed to do a hands-on article about it. This latest hands-on of the Pixel 4 XL gives us a look at the updated Google Assistant, new Face Unlock feature, and more.

NextRift states that Google Assistant 2.0 is much faster when it comes to processing requests, making it a seamless experience. While Google Assistant is fast on current devices, there is still a minor delay that makes it seem like a less cohesive experience overall.

## Google Pixel 4 XL specifications

The Google Pixel 4 XL also has an Ambient EQ feature that is similar to Apple’s True Tone and adjusts the white balance of the display based on the ambient light. The publication also found a Smooth Display feature on their Google Pixel 4 XL prototype unit. This feature is said to dynamically adjust the screen’s refresh rate between 60Hz to 90Hz. These features have been spotted before in a hands-on video that surfaced earlier.

While we’re twiddling our thumbs waiting for the Pixel 4 announcement, there’s plenty to keep us occupied. The new iPhones are here! And we have amazing coverage from iMore’s Rene Ritchie, our own AC perspective from Hayato Huseman and a third view from MrMobile. If that wasn’t enough, how about the crazy circumstances of the Huawei Mate 30 launch? Stuff has hit the fan there, and it’s a real shame, because the Mate 30 Pro looks incredible. Plus, this week we’ll get all of the details on the OnePlus 7T. September and October don’t disappoint.

Another thing we don’t yet know about the Google Pixel 4 is how much it will cost. Last week, we reported on an Irish retailer whose website confirmed a handful of details about the Pixel 4, including the “Oh So Orange” name for the orange Pixel 4 and some sketchy pricing. While many took this pricing to heart, our Stephen Hall wisely pointed out that these prices are, again, sketchy.

Pricing is usually one of the last details finalized by a company, as decisions need to be made based on the market and the competition. For example, Google has surely taken notice of Apple’s bold move to affordably price the base model iPhone 11 at $699 and may make adjustments in response. Because of this, we may not see (accurate) pricing for the Pixel 4 leak ahead of the Made by Google event, and any leaks we do see should be taken with a grain of salt.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Google Pixel 4 XL is rumoured to pack a 12-megapixel primary camera and a second 16-megapixel camera.

Google Pixel 4 is expected to come with a Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with 6 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of storage.

The site also lists cases for the range in blue, chalk, black and orange colors, which have additionally been mentioned by the sources above.

That said, it’s important to remember that these are prices from one retailer in one region. Prices can vary by region and retailer, so the following numbers should come as a rough indication of how much the device could cost. It’s also worth noting that Elara listed a sale price for each device as well, so I’ve included that below. Google Pixel 4 64GB – €750.38 excl. VAT, €666.65 sale price | $1,095.85 or $973.58 CAD Google Pixel 4 128GB – €861.75 excl. VAT, €766 sale price | $1,258.50 or $1,118.67 CAD Google Pixel 4 XL 64GB – €923.63 excl. VAT, €821.12 sale price | $1,349.87 or $1,199.16 CAD Google Pixel 4 XL 128GB – €1,030.50 excl. VAT, €916 sale price | $1,504.94 or $1,337.73 CAD

Finally, on the Pixel front, Elara listed some cases for the devices. These are similar to cases released for Pixels in the past and come in four colours: Blue, Chalk, Black and Orange.
